To the World Through the Eyes of a Photo Camera

Now let’s stop and think a little. Do you think that every moment or every object can have a photograph? As someone who has just started his photography adventure, I don’t know if it would be right to answer this question, but I could answer this question as follows: Every moment or every object can have a photograph, but it only happens when we look at it from the right angle. Just like in our lives, there are moments when we look at the events we experience from a different perspective. In my opinion, this sentence is also valid in photography. When we look at it from a different angle, we notice something new. The mystery brought by this obscurity and innovation also pushes us to focus. We become curious. Then we try to make sense of the feelings that the photograph we take evokes in us. When we take a photo of a glass or a very simple object, “How can I get a meaning from this?”. But the answer to this question is hidden in the angle of the image you want to photograph.

Think about the moments when you were happy. Have you ever looked at it for a long time to avoid forgetting it? Because it happened to me. When there is a moment when I am very happy or a moment that I do not want to forget, I take a picture of that moment with my brain. It’s like I’m engraving pixels into my brain one by one. I started photography when I discovered this behavior. After being introduced to the art of photography, I became interested in cinema. I got lost in the movies I watched or the photographs I saw. This behavior caused me to not enjoy movies as much as I used to. I think about every angle and wonder why they did it from this angle. I think this behavior is the result of a job I want to do. My mother used to tell me that every job has its difficulties. I guess she was really right.

But I can tell you that there is a big difference between a photo we take with our eyes and a photo we take with a camera. This difference is the difference in quality. There is a sentence circulating among people. You’ve probably heard of it too. “You can’t believe it until you see it with your own eyes.” For this reason, as you can understand, every moment we live is actually of great importance. There is a big difference between looking from a different window and witnessing the event and being present in the event.

Most people have experienced the pleasure of watching the memories we have collected over and over again at night. We start to miss the times when we were happy with the memories we want to live again. Even if we will never see the same photo again, we try to see a similar one.

So, what do we need to call a photograph a beautiful photograph? You can spend a lot of time trying to find the answer to this question. But in fact, as I told you before, a beautiful photograph actually depends on the angle and the value of the moment we live. Photos taken instantly and without thought are always more attractive to us. Because we notice something different every time we look. When you look around while walking on the street, you can see many things that may affect you. This could be anything. I care about every photo I take. Because each of them is actually a reflection of the moments I experience. A different person may not understand why I took the photos I took. This is where the subjectivity of the art of photography emerges. Just as a painter goes through his own subjective thoughts on a subject and transfers it to his painting in that way, a photographer finds his own subjective thoughts from a different perspective. I think this is the meaning of the word art. The irresistible attraction brought by subjectivity. Art lies in everyone’s subjective thoughts and can emerge in different ways.

Finally, as you can see in other articles in this magazine, each person has a different opinion. Thanks to our feelings and character traits that we have or are determined by our upbringing, each person becomes a different mystery from each other. The subjective opinions of the people here also make up the whole of this magazine. I think that’s why our magazine is called ”Voices“.
