In the period 17-26 June, Volunteers Centre Skopje, in cooperation with ARKTOS from Antwerp, Belgium, is hosting the Youth Exchange ”Increasing Quality of Youth Work: Vulnerable Youth in Focus” in the beautiful village of Brajchino on the foothills of Pelister, together with partners from Spain, Latvia, Croatia and Greece. The project involves 40 young people aged 16 – 30. The project focuses on vulnerable youth categories, youth coming from rural areas in particular, since this group faces many difficulties in the participating countries and these young people from rural areas do not have at their disposal quality activities that can provide them with opportunities for personal and professional development.
The project is also an excellent opportunity for intercultural learning where, in addition to interacting with each other, the participants from the participating countries present their country through informative videos, traditional music, food and drinks, involving also the locals who are taking part in the activities, for which we can rely on the great cooperation with the local Brajchino association and their members.
As part of the activities of the Youth Exchange, the participants are photographing the nature and architecture of this part of the Prespa region, creating short videos interviewing the locals, and organizing action for cleaning and refurbishing the relaxation spots around the village. On Saturday(24.06.2017) there will be a presentation of the Erasmus + Programme during which the opportunities that the program me offers to the young people from Macedonia will be presented, particularly to the young people living in rural areas in the Prespa region, and the event will be rounded with an exhibition of photos taken by the participants and a music show.
